Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about tracking a collection, understanding Up Set values, using supported identification tools, and managing your account.

01

Using Up Set

The basics of finding, tracking, and understanding a collection.

What is Up Set?

Up Set is a collection-management and market-reference service for building sets and collectibles. It connects catalog search, personal inventory, cost tracking, collection value, collectible-series progress, watch targets, and buying context in one account.

Do I need an account to use Up Set?

No account is needed to search the public set catalog or view published values. An account is required to save a collection, purchase costs, collectible progress, recent activity, watch targets, and personal preferences.

Does my account work on both the website and mobile app?

Yes. The website and mobile app use the same Up Set account, so saved inventory, collectibles, costs, targets, and preferences can follow you across supported devices.

What is different in the mobile app?

The website provides the full non-camera collection experience. The mobile app additionally supports camera-assisted barcode, set-box, and collectible-code identification where a verified identification path is available.

Can I track what I paid?

Yes. You can record the cost of individual copies and collectibles. Up Set uses your recorded cost basis to show gain or loss and ROI while keeping the current published value separate from what you personally paid.

02

Pricing and collection value

How published values are selected and how they affect your collection.

What is Up Set’s Price?

Up Set’s Price is a current market reference produced from eligible evidence that passes quality and reasonableness checks. It is not a guaranteed sale price, appraisal, or promise that an item can be bought or sold for that exact amount.

How does Up Set value retail and retired sets?

For a current retail set with a reliable MSRP, MSRP is the primary collection reference and the market trend is supporting context. For a retired set, the current published market value takes priority. Products without a meaningful MSRP use a published market value when sufficient evidence is available.

What evidence can affect a published value?

Eligible marketplace and retail signals may be considered with attention to recency, item condition, shipping when available, listing quality, activity, supply, and consistency across evidence. Conflicting or incomplete evidence can be held for review instead of being published automatically.

How often do values change?

Values can change when new evidence is processed and passes the model’s controls. The dates and coverage shown in the product experience indicate the information available to the published model at that time.

What does ROI mean in Up Set?

ROI compares the current collection value with the cost basis you recorded. A positive percentage means the current reference value is above that recorded cost; a negative percentage means it is below. It does not include every possible fee, tax, or selling expense.

Why might a product show pricing pending?

Up Set may wait when evidence is missing, conflicting, incomplete, or unable to pass a practical reasonableness check. Holding a value for review is safer than publishing a guess.

03

Catalog, scanning, and collectibles

Coverage, identification, and collectible-series behavior.

What products are supported?

Up Set focuses on its supported building-set and collectible catalog. Reference records that fall outside the intended product scope—such as unrelated merchandise, replacement parts, and unsupported accessories—are excluded from the user-facing catalog.

Will every barcode identify a set?

Not yet. Barcode identification works only when a scanned code has been mapped to a supported catalog item with sufficient verification. Coverage is being expanded, but an unknown code is not intentionally guessed.

Can every collectible minifigure be identified while sealed?

No. Only supported series with a usable, verified code can be identified while sealed. Older blind-bag series often cannot be identified without opening the package, so they are tracked as sealed random collectibles or added manually rather than assigned a character without evidence.

How are collectible series organized?

Collectibles have a dedicated collection view with owned quantities, duplicates, missing characters, series progress, cost basis, and value. Their value still contributes to the overall collection summary while remaining separate from the ordinary set inventory.

What should I do if an item or price looks wrong?

Send the set or collectible number, a short description of the issue, and a screenshot when possible to support@upsetme.com. Reported catalog, artwork, identity, and pricing issues can then be reviewed against the supporting evidence.

04

Independence, affiliates, and privacy

How Up Set handles commercial relationships and account information.

Is Up Set affiliated with the LEGO Group?

No. Up Set is an independent service and is not sponsored, authorized, or endorsed by the LEGO Group. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group.

Are affiliate buying links active?

No commission-earning buying links are currently active on the website. If approved partner links are introduced, the potential commission will be disclosed clearly beside or immediately above the relevant link before a visitor clicks.

Can an affiliate relationship change Up Set’s Price?

No. Shopping referrals and affiliate compensation are kept separate from the published pricing methodology. A linked offer is also not a guarantee that it is the lowest available price.

Does Up Set sell my collection or account information?

No. Up Set does not sell personal collection or account information. Service providers may process information as needed to operate authentication, storage, hosting, notifications, diagnostics, and other service functions described in the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my account?

Sign in, open Settings, and choose Delete my account. If you cannot sign in, use the account-deletion page or email support@upsetme.com from the address associated with the account. Deletion is permanent.
